Tell Congress: No War on Iran. Sign on to the War Powers Resolution Act
The people of the United States overwhelmingly oppose further involvement by the United States in war with Iran.
There is no justification for further escalation and rejection of diplomacy, and the people aren’t buying the bluster and lies emanating from a Trump administration growing more unpopular by the day. War is an expensive, deadly disaster, costly for the victims and the aggressor alike.
And whatever the future may hold as regards a potential ceasefire between Israel, Iran, and the United States, we cannot allow this, or ANY, President to unilaterally make decisions on war and peace. The U.S. Constitution reserves the power to declare war to the legislative branch - NOT one person in the White House.
Diplomacy is the path to peace, and our members of Congress must assert their constitutional authority over these critical decisions. There are two bills currently circulating—one in the House and one in the Senate—that provide members of Congress a path toward asserting this power.
Take action today and send a message asking your member of Congress to sign or cosponsor this important legislation.
